I had an 9 am appointment for an oil change and a tire rotation there wasn’t any vehicles for oil change on the appointment side. I didn’t get my car until 10:35 just the paperwork to be taken into the office it took them 20 minutes. But I was speaking with a lady that brought her car in by 10 for oil change on a no appointment and she got her car before I got mine. I been a customer since 2015 when I bought my car at American Chevrolet. Also someone forgot to put my windshield sticker for the next oil change

I am very disappointed by the service I received this past Friday 1/24 at American Chevrolet in Modesto. This is now twice in a row I've had issues and we have been coming here, all the way from San Jose, for the past 20 years with no issues till this past year.. I arrived at 7 am for the express service and I was the 3rd car in line. When the advisor spoke to me once they opened just after 730 he said it would be about an hour. In addition to the oil change and tire rotation I asked to have both of my headlight bulbs replaced as the passenger side was burnt out. At about 8:45 the advisor came to tell me it was just about done. I waited and waited and nothing. By 9:30 I went outside to see if it was done and my car was still in the bay. The advisor saw me and said nothing. At @ 945 I saw them pull my car to the front, so I went into the dealership. I waited another 10 minutes and went to the desk to ask if my car was ready, and I got a snarky comment from the lady at the desk who says well it takes a while for them to bring us the paperwork. I believe it was there because she had my keys and no one came to their desk while I waited. I paid and then when to my car. No one reviewed the paperwork with me. My husband said to check the lights and they were not on. I always have my lights set to auto, and there are always running lights on at all times and then the headlights come on at dusk/dark. I went to the service desk and asked if someone would come look. The tech, not the one who worked on my car said "they work what are you talking about?" I said no they weren't what button did you touch. He then showed that he turned my lights from auto to always on. I said that's not how they are supposed to work. I was already late to my next apt, as I did not expect to be here over 2 hours, so I left. By the time I left Modesto it was 5pm and getting dark, the headlights as he showed me did not come on, and the only way to get any light was to use my fog lights. The next morning I called the dealership, was told service was not open. I asked to be transferred to Kenny's vm to leave a message. I left a message letting him know how upset I was and that I wanted him to call my husband Rafael on Monday to discuss options to correcting this and gave his #. It is now Wednesday and neither one of us have been called. Not having lights is a safety issue and could be a fix-it ticket. I drive every day in the early morning hours and go home after dark. I paid @$100 just for the lights because I was there and my husband is recovering from hand surgery, but now wish we just did it ourselves. I do not know what is going on with the service here, it had always been so much better than any of my local dealerships, which is why we drive 90 miles each way to come here. Now as this is my 2nd issue in a row and no one seems interested in fixing your mistakes, we will not be coming here in the future and will let my Modesto family and friends know not to go here as well. We are very connected through my father-in-law with the veterans in the community. I do expect the error to be fixed though and expect a call to discuss it.

I brought my car in for a check engine light. Service diagnosed it needed a purge valve, having to do with the fuel and I picked it up end of day the next day. I drove straight from the dealership to my house a few miles away and pulled in the garage. In the morning on pulling out of the garage the sensor when something is too close to my car goes off (there's nothing near my car). It stays on until I put the car in drive and for several seconds after that or if I put it in park it will stop. I called the dealership after the second time it did it and spoke with Jose. Will be bringing it back on Monday. I did not have this issue prior to getting this repair. I expect that whatever it is, you will fix it free of charge.

I was not given a complete evaluation on my truck performance other than, confirming that it needed a Transmission replacement! The truck was initially given a performance test-drive. The test-drive confirmed the truck performed poorly & had related transmission issues! I took my truck to a Transmission Specialist where they discovered a broken Engine Mount on the Driver side which apparently was associated in the damage to the transmission. The above additional information I gained through the Transmission Specialist was not discovered by Chevy but only that it definitely needed a Transmission replacement! Nothing about a broken Engine Mount.

I am shocked at the lack of customer service and professional integrity by the Service department at American Chevrolet in Modesto. I do not feel like a valued customer and will not recommend anyone to them for any reason. On 3/19/25, my son took in my 2012 Equinox to American Chevrolet in Modesto as there was a bad smell in the vehicle and we suspected there was a rodent in the passenger air duct. We were told that they would investigate and let us know, the estimate was $410. We called on 3/20 and left message, but no call back. On 3/22, we called angain and were told that there was a dead rat, it had been removed and they were deoderizing the vehicle and to call back on Monday, 3/24. We did and had to leave another message. No reply. We had to call again on 3/28. The service rep said the service manager would call back. When he did, he apologized for the delay and said that the car would be ready that afternoon. When my son went to pick up the Equinox, they wanted to charge over $990 even though they never received authorization above the estimate. When the service manager came out, he threatened to reverse any repairs done and was trying to negotiate for the doubled price. After about 30 minutes, and holding them to the original estimate, the car was released. It had leaves, rat droppings and other debris in the passenger seat, and still smelled. I do not believe they actually performed any actual service on my Equinox and there was no evidence of their use of a deodorant. I am concerned that they failed to check the air ducts and wiring for damage that would likely be caused by a rodent. As a senior citizen, it's disappointing and offensive that this company would treat a customer this way. Especially, since I purchased the Equinox from that dealership new.

I am writing to complain about my experience with American Chevrolet in Modesto, California. I purchased a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse on March 10, 2025. Since the time of purchase, I experienced significant and repeated safety issues with the vehicle, which caused me to lose confidence in its reliability and my family's safety while driving it. During the purchase process, the vehicle appeared to be in normal working condition during the test drive. However, while finalizing the paperwork, the salesman informed us that the check engine light had turned on, the entire system was failing, and the brake system was unresponsive. We were told the car needed to be serviced before we could take it home. At that point, we had already signed the contract and were not given the option to cancel. Had I been informed of these issues before signing, I absolutely would not have proceeded with the purchase. The dealership serviced the vehicle and assured us that it was only a loose sensor. We picked up the vehicle on March 11, 2025, and followed all instructions regarding the ceramic coating that had been applied. That evening, while attempting to park the vehicle in the garage, my husband noticed the check engine light had turned back on. However, by the next morning, the light was off again, so we continued to monitor the car rather than immediately returning it to the dealership. Since it was raining throughout the week, we did not drive the vehicle again until March 19, 2025. On that day, while driving in a residential area with my children in the car, the vehicle began beeping, the check engine light turned back on, and the brake system failed again. The radio stopped working and the screen and steering wheel were overheating. Concerned for our safety, we immediately pulled over and contacted the salesman, who directed us to roadside assistance. The vehicle was towed back to the dealership that evening. After discussing the issue with the sales managers and the salesman, I requested to cancel the contract or have the vehicle replaced due to the repeated and severe safety concerns. However, I was told that the car had to be serviced first before any further steps could be taken. On March 20, 2025, I followed up with the service department and was informed that the issue was with a sensor inside the main cylinder, which required the full part to be replaced. Furthermore, I was informed that the part was on back order with no estimated arrival time, meaning I could be without my vehicle for an extended period. As a temporary solution, I was provided with a courtesy rental, but it was a 5-passenger vehicle, which does not accommodate my entire family. Since I specifically purchased a 7-passenger vehicle for my family’s needs, this was not a suitable resolution. Given that this was the second instance of brake system failure in less than two weeks of ownership, I no longer felt safe in this vehicle. I was deeply concerned about what could happen if this issue were to occur while driving on the freeway or in a high-traffic area. This vehicle posed a significant safety risk to myself, my family, and others on the road. Due to these repeated and unresolved safety concerns, I formally requested the cancellation of my contract and a full refund OR the replacement of this vehicle with a different, safe, and reliable model of equal value. On March 27, the General Sales Manager contacted us and expressed his willingness to help. We met with him on March 30 and explained that our goal was to replace the vehicle with the same model and trim. On March 31, he informed us that he had located the same vehicle through a dealership trade and that it would be available for pickup the next day. We returned to the dealership on April 1 to take the new vehicle. The General Sales Manager assured us it was the same as the original and, while $200 more expensive, he would not charge us the difference. However, after bringing the vehicle home, we noticed that several features included in our original purchase were missing — specifically, the 120-volt power outlet, rear pedestrian alert, and the HD surround vision 360 camera. We understand that this vehicle includes additional accessories, which contributed to the higher price. However, those accessories could have been added later at our discretion, whereas the 360 camera is not something we can add after the fact. We immediately contacted the General Sales Manager to raise our concerns. He stated that his focus had been on matching the color and panoramic sunroof, and was unaware that these key features were not included. We expressed that while the additional accessories were appreciated, they were not as important to us as the surround vision 360 camera — a feature that had significantly influenced our original purchase decision. We inquired whether the 360 camera could be added, and he said he would consult the service department. After limited follow-up, I reached out again on April 7 and was informed that the 360 camera could not be added, as it could not be programmed to the new vehicle. We expressed our disappointment, as we had been assured that we were receiving the same vehicle. We feel we’ve lost out on a key feature that was important to us from the start. Had we been properly informed that certain features were missing, we would have seriously considered other options — even if it meant choosing a different color or accepting a higher cost. We truly appreciate the effort he made to price match and secure the same color vehicle for us. However, being offered our original vehicle in return as a resolution— which we had previously declined due to serious safety concerns — felt dismissive and did not address the loss of a feature that was important to us. The general sales manager has informed us that he is not willing to offer any other resolution. The dealership should offer to replace our current vehicle with one of the same color and including all the key features from our original purchase, particularly the HD surround vision 360 camera. We believe this is a fair resolution that aligns with the assurances we were given during this process. Thank you for your time and consideration. I’m not fond of the new procedure for oil changes. When making an appointment it’s hard to get the time that works for me. Usually it’s days out and it’s hard to adjust my schedule so I get there early and wait in line (usually first or second) but now with the new procedure I can’t tell where in line I’m at. The lube service writer was helpful. The old procedure would have vehicles lined up almost to McHenry so maybe this is the reason for the new procedure although they’re still backed up to McHenry since all vehicles, service and lube are in the same two lanes instead of six.

I checked the American Chevrolet web-site and saw that tax and dealer incentives were available for a selection of Equinox EVs, so I went to the dealership that morning. I was introduced to Hayden, who was very knowlegable about the Equinox EVs. We worked through the various vehicles that were still available, what options they were built with and which incentives were available for each. I planned to buy a "Base" model, to stay within my budget restraints. However, Hayden was able to confirm some additional discounts that I was not aware of (Costco, for example). As a result, for only a modest increase in purchase price, I was able to purchase a nicely optioned LT2 with the black roof. My friends and family (including my 10 yo grandson) think the vehicle is as visually stunning as I do. After the sale, Hayden has been VERY helpful in assisting me with how to charge at commercial chargers and at home (so far only Level 1... electrician will be here next week). American Chevrolet was the 3rd Chevrolet dealership that I had visited in the last month or two, but they were the only one that had any significant inventory to choose from and who assisted me to understand the available incentives to make an informed purchase decision. When I purchased the Restall ceramic coat. I specifically asked for a paint correction before signing the contract. Meaning I told them I wanted all swirls and minor scratches taken out before treated. They did remove the minor scratches but the swirls are still there. The communication was very clear. I told Just when I checked the car in and when I left I told him the car did look better and the minor scratches were gone but I was not happy that the car wasn’t properly prepared. I will say that Justin was a very very helpful service coordinator, I was going to be late for work and he moved things along very quickly for me. Very impressed with this you man! I arrived at 7:45am for an 8:00 appointment for an oil change. Three cars in front of me in the appointment line. About 6 cars in the non-appointment line. At 8:20am, an employee gets in my truck and moves it to the side to allow a vehicle that arrived AFTER me to go in front of me. Not sure if they had an earlier appointment or not, but if they did and were that late, employees should've just left their vehicle after mine. Meanwhile, two vehicles that arrived after me for the non-appointment line had already been serviced and left. As well as others in the non-appointment line. At 8:38am, my truck gets pulled into the back lot out of sight. At 9:35am, my truck is pulled out of the main service garage and parked behind the fence. I walked in to ask about my truck and at 9:42am, I received the keys to my truck. So, apparently making an appointment for an oil change is the slowest way to get my oil changed. I've had issues here twice before with my oil filter leaking oil in my driveway after a service. Having to go back to have it serviced again/fixed. Both times I was told that they had a bad batch of filters. Come on. I'm not stupid. If Chevy had a bad batch of filters, I would think that they would've returned the filters and gotten better ones. There was a couple there with two vehicles in the appointment line in front of me. They were still there after I finally left. Again, not sure what service they were getting performed but it is the Quick Lube Service Center so it's not like they were there for an engine rebuild. If someone makes an appointment, it should be honored and done somewhat efficiently. I don't expect an IndyCar speed pit stop. But an hour and 42 minutes for an oil change is pretty long. I probably could've taken all four of my cars to Jiffy Lube and been in and out faster with the same level of service. And yes, I kept track of the times because I knew there would be an issue after seeing my truck moved out of line for no reason. I don't expect, nor want, a free oil change offered. I want American Chevy to provide better service. Like they used to do. If someone has an appointment, they should be taken care of in a timely fashion. Go to the doctor's office with an appointment, you get called before a walk-in (unless of course it's an emergency). Thank you and I hope that the service improves. No excuses anymore. Fix it.

The quick loop guys did a great job on my truck done early called me when it was done, told me when I can pick it up. The only problem I have with American Chevrolet. Now is the cost to do an oil change and nothing else is a 100. And $75. With the previous owners, they did tire. Rotation, and it was a full service for a $130. So I won't be going back there.

It took almost a month to replace the motor in my 2021 Silverado I was told that the mechanic working on it was being pulled off to do other jobs. Also, I don’t know why they just didn’t stay on it get it done not to mention the 3.0 Duramax blew up at 118,000 miles this truck was serviced every time on time not to mention the transmission went out at 114,000 miles. That was another $7000 in general motors picked up 9000 of the $15,500 motor replacement not happy.

A year ago my oil change was $125, this year it was $175. Last year the labor charge was $48 , this year it was $98. The oil and filter costs were the same price. Unless you gave your techs a 100% raise, you are guilty of price gouging and I will not be returning to you dealership.

After having a recall done last month and the 3 weeks later my info system went down which is the radio , gps and all settings functions. So first i waited 2 hours and couldn’t fix it , second time left my truck there all day to get the the news it’s no longer working. Third trip was the installing of a refurbished information system. Never heard of after 5 years the radio going out . After watching YouTube videos I see it’s a common problem.
